Pride - the power of redemption is a 2007 film that tells the true story of US swimming coach Jim Ellis, played by actor Terrence Howard.

It is 1974 in Philadelphia. An African-American man named Jim Elliscon, with a good swimming background, cannot find a job. In a moment of great difficulty, he decides to return to the arms of his first great love, swimming, improvising himself as an instructor and coach in the city reformatory swimming pool.
Thanks to his new job at the dilapidated "Marcus Foster" reformatory pool, Jim finds a way to train some of the boys in the facility, offering them a chance for physical and especially social rehabilitation.
